What to see and do in Nuez de Ebro

Nuez de Ebro
Village
Nuez de Ebro is a municipality of Zaragoza province with 886 inhabitants, in the Comarca Central, situated in the Ebro depression 20 km from the Aragonese capital and at 181 metres above sea level, with part of its municipal area within the los Sotos y Galachos del Ebro nature reserve. It is believed to be of medieval origin, perhaps founded by the knights of la Nuez who went on the conquest of Mallorca with James I; the first mention dates from 1205. Next to the square, with its two centuries-old elms, stands the group formed by the church of San Martín, with a single nave with star-ribbed vaults, and the palace-house where the town hall is now based. On this stretch of the Ebro bacalao al ajoarriero is kept up, a Lenten dish of flaked salt cod, garlic, oil and dried pepper, served with boiled potato.

Festivities of Nuez de Ebro
Activity
Nuez de Ebro, in the Comarca Central de Zaragoza, celebrates two festivals throughout the year. The main festival takes place on the first weekend of October in honour of the Virgen del Rosario, joined by the festival of San Martín on 11 November.
