What to see and do in Bisimbre

Bisimbre
Village
Bisimbre is a municipality of 98 inhabitants in the comarca of Campo de Borja, 56 kilometres from Zaragoza, on a plain dominated in the distance by the Moncayo and watered by the río Huecha, which forms the western boundary of the municipal territory; the village stands at 320 metres above sea level. It preserves the Gothic church of San Juan Bautista, built of ashlar in the 15th century, with 18th-century altarpieces, and two peirones scattered across its territory. In 1935 it served, together with Borja and La Almunia de Doña Godina, as the setting for a scene in the film Nobleza Baturra, by Florián Rey, in which a jug is smashed against one of these peirones in the main square.
