What to see and do in Lledó

Lledó
Village
Lledó, Lledó d'Algars in Catalan, is a small municipality in the Matarraña, in the province of Teruel, located on the left bank of the Algás river at 458 metres above sea level. Built on a hill, its plaza Mayor is arranged over several levels and houses the Casa de la Vila, the town hall dating from 1610, with an exchange hall. Its castle, together with that of Arenys de Lledó, belonged from 1205 to the Calatrava commandery of Calaceite, and was occupied by the troops of Jaime Ram after an uprising. The parish church of Santiago Apóstol, Gothic from the 14th century and declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), is built in ashlar with a single nave. It has 150 inhabitants and lives off a wine-growing, farming and livestock economy; the former station of the Val de Zafán greenway now marks the passage into the Catalan area.
Church of Lledó
Monument
Gothic church of Santiago Apóstol of Lledó (Matarraña, Teruel), whose construction is dated, though without full certainty, to around the first half of the 14th century. The presbytery is covered by a large simple ribbed vault with keystones decorated with the Paschal Lamb, and it has four side chapels, two on each side: those on the Gospel side set into the wall and those on the Epistle side projecting outward, with Renaissance decorative motifs. In 1936 its interior was dismantled and the images and the organ, the work of Francisco Turull, were destroyed.
