Torralba de los Sisones
Village
Torralba de los Sisones is a municipality in the province of Teruel, in the Jiloca district, situated south of the Gallocanta lagoon, in the Iberian System, at 1,041 metres above sea level. It has 145 inhabitants. In 1248, by privilege of James I, it separated from Daroca and joined the Sesma del Campo de Gallocanta, within the Comunidad de Aldeas de Daroca, dissolved in 1838; in the mid-19th century it recorded as many as 591 inhabitants. The old town centre was grouped around a Muslim castle, now half in ruins, from which the whole district can be seen, and near the village stands the hermitage of Santa Bárbara. Its main festivities, in honour of San Roque, are held from 14 to 19 August.
