La Puebla de Valverde
Village
La Puebla de Valverde is a municipality in the comarca of Gúdar-Javalambre, in Teruel, located at the foot of the sierra de Javalambre and with 485 inhabitants at an altitude of 1,118 metres. Its relief extends from the valley of the río Mijares, to the east, to the foothills of the sierra itself, whose peak reaches 2,018 metres. It preserves remains of the medieval wall with two of its gates, the Portal de Valencia and the Portal de Teruel, as well as the 16th-century parish church of Santa Emerenciana, and the hermitage of Loreto, from the same century. Among its manor houses stand out the Casa Grande, of the counts of la Puebla de Valverde, and the Casa of the Lázaro family, today a restaurant, with its entrance arch and decorated wooden eave.
