What to see and do in Sesué

Sesué
Village
Sesué is a municipality in La Ribagorza, in the heart of the Pyrenees of Huesca, at 1,050 metres of altitude by the Ésera river, in the Benasque Valley or “Valle Escondido”, 10.6 kilometres from Benasque and within the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park and Aneto peak. It has 120 inhabitants (INE 2025), known as falandraixos, who speak a dialect of Ribagorzan Aragonese called patués; as is usual in the Pyrenees, they identify themselves by the name of their houses. Sesué has been recorded since the year 893 as Sesué and Sisue, and preserves a Romanesque-Lombard church from the 12th century, with a single nave and semicircular apse, with the portal remade in the 16th century, as well as the hermitages of San Saturnino and San Pedro. Running water did not arrive until 1960, and its school remained open until 1975.
