What to see and do in Igriés

Igriés
Village
Igriés is a municipality in the Hoya de Huesca, eleven kilometres from the provincial capital, on the plain of the río Isuela valley, with the Santacoba peak rising to the north. It is documented from the beginning of 1104, in the concord reached between the bishop of Huesca and the abbot of Montearagón. It preserves the Romanesque hermitage of San Juan, from the 12th century, next to an old weir and a mill on the Isuela, as well as the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza, from 1950. Its festivals are spread throughout the year: San Fabián and San Sebastián on 20 January, the Virgen del Olivar on 11 May and San Juan on 24 June. It now has some 727 inhabitants.
