La Pobla de Farnals
Village
La Pobla de Farnals is a coastal municipality of L'Horta Nord, in the Valencian Community, 15 kilometres from the capital, of Andalusi origin: tradition places the old alquería where the parish church now stands, opposite the Caduf spring, of which the name of the Cebolla district and the Camino de los Moriscos also remain. It appears in James I's Llibre del Repartiment as the alquería of Fernalis, granted in 1238 to Guillem de Alcalá. Together with El Puig it formed a barony that around 1340 belonged to Margarida Escalona, and it belonged to the Barony of El Puig until 1608, whence comes its old name of Creu del Puig. Its patron saint is Saint Felix of Nola and it retains the church of San José, rebuilt in 1737. It has about 9,255 inhabitants.
