What to see and do in Benaguasil

Benaguasil
Village
Benaguasil is a municipality of El Camp de Túria, in Valencia, on the left bank of the Turia river, in the city's second metropolitan ring; its territory includes the Cerro de las Traviesas and the Cerro de Montiel, 251 m high, where a fortified Bronze Age settlement and a watchtower of the Iberian defensive network have been documented. On that hill stands the sanctuary of the Virgen de Montiel, the town's main pilgrimage site, which arose from the finding of a marble image in 1620 and was rebuilt in the late 18th century with a classicist façade. In the town centre a stretch of the Islamic wall restored in 2003 survives, along with the remains of the tower of the Castellet de Abenaduf, as well as a church with Gothic and Renaissance elements. It has 12,668 inhabitants.
