What to see and do in Villanueva de Perales

Villanueva de Perales
Village
Villanueva de Perales is a village in the Community of Madrid, in the Perales river valley, among dehesas and livestock droving routes, at 595 metres above sea level. In the mid-19th century it had barely 236 inhabitants, against close to 1,700 today. Its town hall, the square and the cultural centre were designed by the architect Miguel Fisac, and the church of the Inmaculada preserves 17th-century bells. The municipality has only a single bus line, which does not connect it directly with the city of Madrid.

Monument
A building designed in the 1990s by the architect Miguel Fisac, who was also responsible for the Casa de la Cultura and the Plaza de la Constitución of 1998; its asymmetrical facade of square windows and side balcony gives his hand away.
