What to see and do in Vilablareix

Vilablareix
Village
Vilablareix is a municipality in the Gironès comarca, on the Onyar plain, next to Girona, with 4,077 inhabitants. In the mid-19th century it had only 256. Its municipal term, located at the southern entrance to the Gerona capital, is crossed by the Güell, Masrocs and Reramurs rivers, joined by an old artificial diversion. The economy combines dryland farming, livestock raising and poultry farming with an industrial estate near the AP-7 motorway. As heritage it preserves the church of Sant Mena, the municipality's main landmark, the hermitage of Sant Roc, at the highest point of the term, and a Roman funerary monument, a sepulchral tower, among the cultivated fields.
