Sant Feliu de Pallerols
Village
Sant Feliu de Pallerols is a municipality in the south of the Garrotxa, on the banks of the Brugent river, which encompasses the former municipalities of Sant Iscle de Colltort and Sant Miquel de Pineda. It extends through the vall d'Hostoles, within the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, broken up by the Corb and Fontpobra ranges and the Can Tià and Traiter volcanoes; at 1,030 m stands the sanctuary of the Font de la Salut. It lived from dryland farming and livestock, and today also from the sausage and chocolate industry. It preserves the parish church, from the 17th century over an earlier Romanesque one, and the castle of Hostoles, a medieval fortress in semi-ruin. Its main festival, with giants, hobby-horses and the mulassa, is declared of national interest.
