Sant Climent Sescebes
Village
Sant Climent Sescebes is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Empordà, in the valley of the riera de l'Anyet, at the foot of the Sierra de l'Albera and bordering la Jonquera to the north. It has 690 inhabitants. Its territory, of dry farming with vines and olive trees under the Empordà designation of origin, contains numerous springs of medicinal waters and a megalithic trail with several dolmens and the Murtra menhir, dating from between 3500 and 3000 BC, which served as a social meeting point. The village retains the parish church of Sant Climent, from the 17th century, built over another already documented in the year 882, remains of the old wall and the old bridge over the Anyet, from the 15th-16th centuries.
