Canovelles
Village
Canovelles is a municipality in the Vallès Oriental comarca, next to Granollers, in the middle valley of the Congost river, with an area of 6.75 km². It is an old village, as shown by its Romanesque church of Sant Feliu, the parish origin of the municipality, which underwent a major demographic and urban transformation with the immigration of the second half of the 20th century; today its Sunday market is one of the largest in Catalonia. The municipality sits on Neolithic settlements: on the lands of Ca l'Estrada a menhir was found dated between the fourth and third millennium BC, along with other archaeological and funerary remains also found at Ca N'Amell.
