Seva
Village
Seva is a municipality in the Osona comarca, in the southeast of the comarca and at the northwestern foot of the Montseny, with its town center, the main town, at 663 meters above sea level; in 2024 it had 3759 inhabitants, slightly increasing since 2016. The territory of Seva is already mentioned in the year 904, and old elements are still preserved in its buildings within the town center; in 1048 a new church of Santa Maria was built, and on 8 July 1472 the surrender of Vic took place after the war against John II. The village drains through the Gurri into the Ter, and its vegetation, typical of the Montseny, combines holm oak, pine and oak; the downy oak (roure martinenc), originally predominant, was over time displaced by pine, although it has sprouted again across the whole territory.
