Camporredondo
Village
Camporredondo is a village of about 140 inhabitants in the Tierra de Pinares district, in the province of Valladolid, at 799 metres above sea level in the valley of the Masegar stream, between the rivers Duratón, Cega and Duero, though watered by none of them. Its economy, traditionally based on cereals, has in recent times given way to potatoes and garlic, alongside a commercially exploitable pine forest and old peat-mining concessions with almost no activity today. It is believed there was once an ancient necropolis here, and an old hillfort is presumed at the place known as pago de la Rosa. Its church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is a 13th-century Gothic building with a single nave between buttresses, with a pointed archivolted doorway on the Epistle side.
