Las Aldehuelas
Village
Las Aldehuelas is a municipality of the Sorian comarca of Tierras Altas, with 58 inhabitants, situated on the sierra del Alba, through which the río Cidacos flows, with the settlement split between the Somero and Bajero quarters on the slope of the Travesas. During the Middle Ages it belonged to the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Yanguas, under the lordship of the Marquis of Aguilar, and in the mid-19th century it incorporated the town of Valloria into its territory. Six archaeological zones in its territory, including those of Valloria, were declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) on 5 May 2005. Almost half its territory is protected within the Oncala-Valtajeros Site of Community Interest.
