Molinos de Duero
Village
A carters' village of some 160 inhabitants beside the Duero, with the Church of San Martín de Tours, the only Gothic church in Soria on a Greek-cross plan apart from that of Montenegro, and the Real Posada de la Mesta, reproduced in the Pueblo Español in Barcelona.
The Greek-Cross-Plan Church
Monument
San Martín de Tours, raised at the end of the sixteenth century and enlarged in the seventeenth, is together with that of Montenegro de Cameros the only Soria Gothic church on a Greek-cross plan; it preserves a Neoclassical organ of 1808.
The Old Grain Store Turned Town Hall
Monument
Built in 1789 as a communal granary where the loan wheat for the residents was kept, today it houses the town hall and displays a sculpture of the patron San Martín on horseback.
The Royal Inn of the Mesta
Monument
This posting house linked to transhumance and to the wool roads was considered so representative of Soria architecture that it was reproduced as a model in the Pueblo Español of Barcelona.
The Mansions from the 17th to the 20th Century
Monument
The village preserves stone mansions with straight lintels or round arches and carved ironwork on the balconies, raised by families enriched by wool and by carting.
