Fuente el Olmo de Íscar
Village
Fuente el Olmo de Íscar is a village of about 51 inhabitants in the province of Segovia, part of the former Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Íscar, 25 km from Cuéllar, 10 from Íscar and 8 from Coca. Prehistoric remains have been found in its territory, among them a Bronze Age dagger, as well as Roman vestiges and those of a medieval abandoned settlement known as Las Aldehuelas; the current name is already documented in 1247 in a parchment from the Archivo Catedralicio de Segovia. Highly productive pine groves surround the village. Its church of San Cristóbal, baroque from the 18th century, replaced an earlier one that was difficult to access and can only be visited during service hours. On the outskirts, a farmer's museum displays trade tools in the open air, among them an old fire pump made in Paris.
