Aldehorno
Village
Aldehorno is a settlement of about 64 inhabitants in the Ribera del Duero district, in the north of the province of Segovia, which belonged to the Community of Town and Land of Haza; until the mid-19th century it was written Aldea Horno, and at that time the town had 267 inhabitants. Its Baroque church of San Pedro Advíncula, with a Latin-cross plan and a dome on pendentives over the crossing, holds a Romanesque baptismal font and a 14th-century Gothic processional cross, along with several Baroque and neoclassical altarpieces. West of the village stands the ermita de la Inmaculada Concepción, next to the cemetery, and the settlement also preserves a restored wash-house and stone trough. In 2008 a stone carving by the Segovian sculptor Luis Haro de Pablo was installed as a tribute to rural women.
