Tabanera la Luenga
Village
Tabanera la Luenga is a Segovian village in the Comunidad de Ciudad y Tierra de Segovia, within the Sexmo de Cabezas, 23 kilometres from the capital. Its parish church of San Vicente Mártir, of the Baroque period, holds a main altarpiece whose Mannerist panels were painted between 1566 and 1568 by a craftsman of unknown name; the altarpiece case and the saint's image were embellished by Nazario de Vega in 1607. That altarpiece, together with the 17th-century Calvary preserved in the ermita del Santo Cristo de la Veracruz, today next to the cemetery, featured in the Las Edades del Hombre exhibition held in Segovia in 2003. It has 51 inhabitants today.
