Moriscos
Village
Moriscos is a municipality in the comarca of La Armuña, in the province of Salamanca, made up of the town of the same name and the deserted hamlets of Granja Capea and La Estación, with about 487 inhabitants. It was founded in the 14th century, when it was placed within the quarter of Villoria in the jurisdiction of Salamanca, within the kingdom of León, and it took its name, then in the singular as Morisco, from having been settled by people of that origin. In 1877 its railway station came into service, with the opening of the Salamanca-Medina del Campo line.

Curiosity
Founded in the fourteenth century within the quarter of Villoria, the place was called «Morisco», in the singular, because it was settled with people of that origin; the present plural and the station opened in 1877 are much later additions.
