Mantinos
Village
Mantinos is a village in the province of Palencia, situated at its extreme north-west, in the vega of the river Carrión, a tributary of the Pisuerga, at 1,149 metres above sea level. It now has about 140 inhabitants, well below the more than 300 it had in the early 20th century. Its church of San Andrés was built in 1777, and in the mid-19th century Madoz's Diccionario counted twenty-six houses of little comfort there.
