Osornillo
Village
Osornillo is a hamlet of around fifty-five inhabitants at 773 metres, compared with the 320 it had in the mid-19th century. Its church of San Cristóbal, from 1601, is divided into three naves with groin vaults and Gothic ribbed vaults, and preserves a Romanesque baptismal font decorated with arcading of nine arches, on four of which the remains of a scene that might depict a baptism can be made out; the four evangelists crowning it, the work of Felipe Bigarny, were part of the Las Edades del Hombre exhibition in 2018. The village also has the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Barrios, its patron saint celebrated on 8 September, and the King's Bridge, over the Pisuerga. On the last weekend of August the Emigrant's Day is celebrated, with a large paella beside the hermitage.
