Palacios de Riopisuerga
Village
Palacios de Riopisuerga is a hamlet of barely 19 inhabitants in the Burgos district of Odra-Pisuerga, set on the left bank of the Pisuerga river, opposite the Palencia town of Lantadilla, and served by the BU-434 road. Its history was tied to Palencia rather than Burgos: between 1785 and 1833 it formed part of the Partido de Nueve Villas of the Intendancy of Palencia, under seigneurial jurisdiction, with Manuel de Guzmán y Bonel, marquis of Claramonte de Arteta, as its lord, and a pedáneo mayor heading local government. Only with the provincial reorganisation of 1833 did it become part of the province of Burgos, where it has remained since.
