Onzonilla
Village
Onzonilla is a municipality in the La Valdoncina comarca, in the province of León, located nine kilometres south of the provincial capital, with the Bernesga river as its eastern boundary; it is made up of six villages, the largest of which is Vilecha, and has about 1,975 inhabitants. It belonged to the old Hermandad del Infantado. On 1 March 2008 the DGT's Automated Traffic-Fine Processing Centre was set up in the municipality. Its festivities coincide with the feast of Santiago Apóstol, on 25 July, when his image is paraded in procession through the village streets and a popular afternoon snack is held with a brass band.
