What to see and do in Redecilla del Campo

Redecilla del Campo
Village
Redecilla del Campo is a municipality in the province of Burgos, in the Montes de Oca district, which also includes the villages of Quintanilla del Monte en Rioja and Sotillo de Rioja; it lies at an altitude of 755 metres, equidistant from Burgos and Logroño. It has always been land of pastures, vineyards and livestock; documented since the 15th century, it passed through the lordships of Juan de Leiva and Pedro Manrique and, in the 17th century, that of the Dukes of Frías, based in Logroño. It forms part of the so-called Riojilla Burgalesa, a district that in 1833 remained under the administration of Burgos despite its geographical link with La Rioja. It has 65 inhabitants spread across its three settlements, and celebrates the feast of San Isidro on 15 May; its patron saint, San Pelayo, is celebrated on 26 June.
