Canales
Village
Canales is a hamlet on the plain of La Moraña abulense, of 42 inhabitants over 6.67 square kilometres at 857 metres of altitude, in the partido judicial of Arévalo, between the municipalities of Fuentes de Año, Langa and Cabezas del Pozo. Already by the mid-19th century it was a small place: Madoz's dictionary recorded 97 residents and 23 poorly laid-out houses, with a parish church dedicated to San Cristóbal and an economy of barley, wheat and chickpeas, with sheep and cattle.
