What to see and do in Los Cerralbos

Los Cerralbos
Village
Los Cerralbos is a municipality in the Torrijos comarca, in Toledo, 60 km from the provincial capital and near Talavera de la Reina, between the Tajo and Alberche rivers, with 452 inhabitants. Its name joins cerro and albo, for the limestone colour of the hill beside the hamlet. The landscape is framed by the Cerro del Caballo and the Cerro de la Tijera, two elevations of around five hundred metres covered with holm oak groves, junipers and wild olives. The municipality was formed in 1835 by the union of the old districts of Cerralbo de Escalona and Cerralbo de Talavera. Its main heritage landmark is the parish church of San Esteban Protomártir, patron saint of the town. Since 2021, an association has been investigating, in the municipality, the grave of five residents shot during the Civil War.
