Selas
Village
Selas is a municipality of the Señorío de Molina, in the province of Guadalajara, with 33 inhabitants. Its territory, crossed by the N-211 road, extends between the Sierra de Selas, which reaches 1,472 metres, and the banks of the Mesa river, which rises within the municipality itself; the southern end reaches into the Alto Tajo Natural Park, an area that suffered the forest fire of 2005. The village stands at 1,219 metres above sea level. In the mid-19th century it had 140 inhabitants, according to Pascual Madoz's Dictionary. It celebrates its patronal festivals in honour of the Virgen de la Minerva, on the Friday of Corpus Christi week, between May and June, and of San Roque, on 16 August.
