What to see and do in Vilaflor de Chasna

Vilaflor de Chasna
Village
With its capital at 1,415 metres above sea level, it is the highest municipality in Spain and one of the three on Tenerife with no coastline. Founded around 1520 as a royal domain and established as a municipality in 1812, it recovered the Guanche name Chasna in its official designation in 2014. According to tradition recorded by Sabino Berthelot, its Castilian name arose from the exclamation of a conqueror gazing at the landscape: 'I saw the flower of Chasna!' ('¡Vi la flor de Chasna!').
