What to see and do in Pinseque

Pinseque
Village
Pinseque is a municipality in the comarca of Ribera Alta del Ebro, in the province of Zaragoza, situated about 20 kilometres from the capital, with a population of 4,601 inhabitants. Its name probably comes from the Aragonese words «pin» (pine) and «sec» (dry), and in Visigothic times it is recorded as Pinsech. The Canal Imperial de Aragón runs through its territory; over it was built in the 18th century, together with the canal itself, the Puente Jubo, which was left unfinished and was fitted in the 21st century with an iron pedestrian footbridge. The village stands at 230 metres above sea level and preserves the parish church dedicated to San Pedro Mártir. In the mid-19th century it had barely 255 inhabitants, a figure that has grown considerably up to the present.
