What to see and do in Toril y Masegoso

Toril y Masegoso
Village
Toril y Masegoso is a small municipality in the Sierra de Albarracín, in the province of Teruel, made up of two settlements, Toril and Masegoso, situated at about 1,490 and 1,515 metres above sea level, with 31 inhabitants combined. On 21 June 1257, by privilege of King James I, it became part of the sesma of Jabaloyas, within the Comunidad de Santa María de Albarracín, which was directly dependent on the crown; this administrative regime, dissolved in the rest of the sesmas in 1837, remains alive today with its seat in Tramacastilla. The municipality adopted its double name in 1916, having previously been called simply Toril. It preserves the church of San Abdón y San Senén, from the 17th century, in Toril, and that of Nuestra Señora del Remedio, from the 18th century, in Masegoso.
