What to see and do in Linares de Mora

Linares de Mora
Village
Linares de Mora is a mountain municipality in Gúdar-Javalambre, in Teruel, on the left bank of the río Linares, among pine forests of Scots pine and black pine that yield in autumn saffron milk caps, king trumpet mushrooms and porcini. The village, whose urban ensemble was declared a bien de interés cultural in 2004, sits atop a rock and preserves a late-medieval townscape barely altered, with a castle, walls and gateways from the 13th century, and whitewashed houses with reddish roofs along four stepped streets. The image of the village is marked by the remains of the castle, at its highest point, and by the parish church of the Inmaculada Concepción, from the 18th century, a work of Teruel Baroque with a freestanding bell tower. Until 1916 it was called Linares, and in 1971 it incorporated Castelvispal. It has 242 inhabitants (INE 2025).
