What to see and do in Hinojosa de Jarque

Hinojosa de Jarque
Village
Hinojosa de Jarque is a small municipality of the Cuencas Mineras, in the province of Teruel, at over 1,200 metres above sea level south of the sierra de San Just, 3 km from Jarque de la Val, the village from which it receives its water; it also includes the village of Cobatillas. It preserves the parish church of San Miguel with its tower, the hermitage of the Virgen del Pilar and the site known as El Santico, and has set up a sculpture park dedicated to the memory of the village, in remembrance of the local sculptor and engraver Florencio de Pedro Herrera. Its patronal festivities, in honour of San Agustín, are held in the last week of August, and Cobatillas celebrates its own, in honour of Santa Quiteria, on 22 May. It has 104 inhabitants (2025), compared with 176 in the mid-19th century.
