What to see and do in Fuentes Calientes

Fuentes Calientes
Village
Fuentes Calientes is a small municipality in the comarca of Comunidad de Teruel, with 89 inhabitants, located at an altitude of 1,209 metres on a high plateau of the Iberian System, between the Sierra de la Costera and the plain of Visiedo. Its origin is possibly medieval, as it is mentioned in the Fuero de Alfambra. The scant tree cover of the area contrasts with a notable bird population: on its municipal area, shared with Perales de Alfambra, extends the Mas de Cirugeda bird reserve, of about 800 hectares, with golden eagle, short-toed snake eagle, great bustard and peregrine falcon. The town has been a pioneer in organic farming, with the creation in 2005 of the first Spanish company producing 100% organic animal feed. It preserves the Gothic-Renaissance church of the Asunción.
