What to see and do in Perales del Alfambra

Perales del Alfambra
Village
Perales del Alfambra is a municipality in the comarca of Comunidad de Teruel, 37 kilometres from the capital, which includes the hamlet of Villalba Alta. It sits on a broad plateau, the Llano de Visiedo, cut by gullies and by the valley of the Alfambra River; to the east of this, the terrain becomes steeper towards the Sierra del Pobo, whose maximum altitude in the municipal area reaches 1,480 metres, while the village itself stands at 1,165. In the mid-19th century it had 537 inhabitants and appeared in Pascual Madoz's Diccionario; today it has 293. Until the 1916 reform of the register of place names, the municipality was called simply Perales, a name that was then changed to Perales del Alfambra.
