What to see and do in Laluenga

Laluenga
Village
Laluenga is a municipality of the Somontano de Barbastro, in Huesca, with 198 inhabitants. Its main attraction is the Pozo Nuevo, a monumental, entirely underground work of hydraulic engineering that overcomes, by means of a broad staircase, a drop of some thirty metres down to a spring, beneath a pointed barrel vault of perfectly squared ashlar blocks reminiscent of medieval churches; from the chamber of the spring three galleries branch off, dug in times of drought. Together with two other wells in the village, the Alto and the Salado, it gave rise to the Pozos Fuente del Somontano interpretation centre. The municipality also preserves the ruins of the Almerge, in the barranco de la Clamor.
