What to see and do in Albero Bajo

Albero Bajo
Village
Albero Bajo is a municipality in the comarca of Los Monegros, in the province of Huesca, near the Flumen canal. The first record of the settlement dates from 1093, when it was conquered by Sancho Ramírez in his advance towards Huesca; after the conquest, tenure of the place passed through several noble hands until it remained, from the 15th century, linked to the Sé and Castro families, also viscounts of Ebol and Illa in Catalonia. It has 109 inhabitants. It preserves the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Rosa, Romanesque from the 12th-13th centuries, built of sandstone with visible masons' marks and a doorway of three archivolts; its tower, begun in 1884, was left unfinished. The remains of the castle of the Sé and Castro families are also preserved, today absorbed into a later building.
