What to see and do in Viacamp y Litera

Viacamp y Litera
Village
Viacamp y Litera is a municipality in southern Ribagorza of Huesca, formed by the settlements of Viacamp, the capital, and Litera, as well as the now-uninhabited hamlets of Chiriveta, Estall, Fet, Finestras, Monfalcó and Mongay. Its municipal area reaches the Montsec de l'Estall mountain range and the Aragonese part of the Mont-rebei gorge, next to the Canelles reservoir. In 1960 the state company Enher built the Canelles dam on the Noguera Ribagorzana, one hundred and fifty metres high, whose waters rise up the gorge and flooded roads and farmland in the municipality. It preserves the castle of Viacamp, the castle of Chiriveta and two Romanesque buildings dedicated to Our Lady of Congost: the current church and the old hermitage. It has 40 inhabitants.
