Village
Teresa de Cofrentes is a municipality of 620 inhabitants in the Valencian comarca of El Valle de Cofrentes-Ayora, an old frontier land between the kingdoms of Valencia and Castile. The earliest inhabitants attested are the Iberians, between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC; the foundations of its old castle date from Roman times. The village stands at 533 metres, at the foot of the Caroig massif, whose highest peak exceeds 1,100 metres, in a municipal area crossed by the Reconque and Cautabán rivers, a tributary of the Júcar.
