Caroig Peak Nature · Teresa de Cofrentes, El Valle de Cofrentes-Ayora, Valencia Image of Teresa de Cofrentes, not of the place itself. El Caroig is part of a large limestone plateau that marks a transition zone between the Iberian and Baetic domains, with a succession of tablelands and ravines among which its summit rises, at 1,126 metres in altitude, in the municipal district of Teresa de Cofrentes. The massif is home to varied wildlife, with populations of Iberian ibex and mouflon that reach overpopulation levels, as well as wild boar, foxes, genets and wildcats, and birds such as the booted eagle, Bonelli's eagle and the peregrine falcon.
