What to see and do in Torres de Segre

Torres de Segre
Village
Torres de Segre is a municipality of the comarca of the Segrià, in the province of Lleida, situated on the banks of the river Segre, near its confluence with the Cinca, and includes the hamlet of Utxesa. Of Arab defensive origin, it already appears as a Christian stronghold in 1153, among the possessions of the house of Cervera. The Utxesa reservoir, formed by the Seròs canal, today constitutes an important wildlife reserve and a refuge for waterfowl within the Pla d'Espais d'Interès Natural, as well as having hydroelectric and agricultural use. The municipal area, irrigated by canals and ditches, also has the Secà reservoir. Torres de Segre has 2,317 inhabitants.

Food and drink
The southern sector of the Segrià, warmer, brings forward the ripening of the peach and the nectarine compared with the rest of the Plana. Stone fruit trees occupy close to a third of the comarca's irrigated land and set the calendar of the season.
