What to see and do in Torre-serona

Torre-serona
Village
Torre-serona is a small municipality of the Segrià market-garden belt, between Lleida, Corbins and Torrefarrera, whose origin goes back to the Middle Ages: it was born as a defence tower on the frontier with al-Andalus, when Christian knights confronted the Saracens during the Reconquest, whence its name comes. Its economy is based on irrigated agriculture and pig farming. It preserves the parish church of Santa María, dedicated to the Assumption, and at the edge of the municipal area stand the archaeological remains of the Calvari hill. It has 405 inhabitants (INE 2025).
