What to see and do in Vidreres

Vidreres
Village
Vidreres is a municipality of the Selva comarca, in the province of Girona, situated between Lloret de Mar and Santa Coloma de Farners, with mountainous relief to the east, in the Catalan Coastal Range, and flat towards the west. Its name, documented since the 10th century as Vitraris, alludes to glasswork, of which a kiln is preserved in its woods. The most important find of its rich prehistory is the necropolis of Pi de la Lliura, an urn cemetery with cremated remains from the end of the Bronze Age, discovered in 1999. Around the 7th century BC the territory marked the border between the Iberian Indigetes and Ausetani peoples.
