Sant Pau de Segúries
Village
Sant Pau de Segúries is a municipality of the Ripollès comarca, in the province of Girona, with 719 inhabitants (2025), situated at 867 metres of altitude on the left bank of the Ter river, between Camprodon and Sant Joan de les Abadesses, on the border with the Garrotxa, and surrounded by mountains of volcanic origin; its territory includes the village of la Ral. The place is documented as early as the year 898 and its church in 920; between 907 and 927 it came under the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, which granted it a founding charter in 1217. The old church, from the late 17th century, was replaced in 1971 by a new temple by Francesc Vayreda and Pau Monguió. The economy is based on cereals, pastures and livestock raising.
