What to see and do in Pozaldez

Pozaldez
Village
Pozaldez is a village of 503 inhabitants in the province of Valladolid, belonging to the Rueda designation of origin, a traditional winemaking activity recalled by its own name, derived from Pozal de Hez, abundance of wine; it also lies on the Mudéjar Route and on the route of the Madrid–Irún railway line, whose station opened in 1860. In the mid-19th century the town had as many as 1,726 inhabitants, according to Pascual Madoz's dictionary. Among its heritage, two churches stand out: that of Santa María, declared Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), and that of San Boal, as well as the remains of Pozaldez castle.
