Quiñonería
Village
Quiñonería is one of the least populated municipalities in the province of Soria, with only ten residents, in the comarca of Campo de Gómara and the judicial district of Soria capital. 20% of its territory, about 758 hectares, forms part of the lugar de interés comunitario of the Encinares de la Sierra del Costanazo. The 1842 census, when the municipality was still called La Quiñonería, recorded 46 households and 180 residents, while by the mid-19th century it had 36 houses on record; in 1979 it incorporated the town of Peñalcázar into its territory. It is the birthplace of Eusebio Millán, the priest who introduced basketball to Spain in 1921.
