San Martín y Mudrián
Village
San Martín y Mudrián is a municipality of about 263 inhabitants in the Tierra de Pinares district, in the province of Segovia, made up of the villages of San Martín and Mudrián, which have shared a council since before the 16th century and have their town hall in the latter. Mudrián is already documented in 1247 as Munnio Andrian, a name linked to its medieval resettler Muño Adrián; San Martín, for its part, takes its name from the dedication of its church, to San Martín de Tours. The municipal area once held two other hamlets now abandoned, Los Añes and Garci Sancho, likewise documented since the 13th century and vanished between the 17th and 18th centuries. Its nurseries raise the strawberry plants that later bear fruit in Huelva.
