What to see and do in Olombrada

Olombrada
Village
Olombrada is a municipality in Segovia of about 490 inhabitants, located in the north of the province, close to the border with Valladolid, within the former Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Cuéllar. The municipality also includes the settlements of Moraleja de Cuéllar and Vegafría, independent until 1970 and historically belonging to the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Fuentidueña. Its Grupo de Teatro Antares, founded in the early 20th century under the name La Afición, remains active. The main festival, in honor of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, is held the first Sunday of October and is organized by the year's quintos, who elect a Queen and Maids of Honor; after Carnival Monday come the second festivities, the Palas, with a parade of peñas and afternoon snacks with lemonade.
Las Palas de Olombrada
Curiosity
On the Sunday following Carnival Monday, Olombrada celebrates Las Palas, a local festival of the winter cycle which coexist with that of the Rosary of the first Sunday of October, organised by the village's conscripts.
